A Kenilworth charity, business and organisation have all come together to provide another defibrillator for the community.

Steve Crowe and Son’s Butchers shop in Whitemoor Road is the latest organisation to host an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED), which was largely funded by Kenilworth Round Table with a generous donation also made by Paul Crowe and facilitated by Kenilworth HeartSafe.

Paul Crowe said: “This is a very worthwhile initiative and as a long standing business serving this community for more than 30 years we are very happy to play our part in supporting both Kenilworth HeartSafe and the community”.

Stuart Greenwood, chairman of Kenilworth Round Table said: “Round Table is not just about fun and fellowship, we have an ethos of giving back to the community, through our activities which include the Santa sleigh and the Fireworks Gala and also by donating funds raised from those activities to advance worthwhile local causes.

"Kenilworth HeartSafe’s 'Saving Lives in Kenilworth' campaign is a very good cause and one we are delighted to support."

Kenilworth HeartSafe trustee Neil Morris said: “This latest AED is a great testimony to the combined efforts of a local charity working with local business and a local service organisation.

"Together we can make a difference to the community in which we all live, work and play.

"Our AED coverage of our community has increased significantly since we started our campaign just over 18 months ago and we still have plans for other AED’s to be installed.

"It is also important that we recommence our related CPR training activities that have been temporarily halted by the Covid-19 lockdown.

"While we cannot yet resume full 'hands on' training because of current social distancing requirements we are looking at a demonstration based training session to ensure that we continue to build on the number of people in our community with the relevant skills to save lives.

"We hope to announce details of these demonstration sessions in the very near future”.
