Kenilworth GP surgery sets up 'drive-thru' service for patients

A Kenilworth GP service surgery has set up a 'drive-thru' where patients can be treated while in their car by a doctors or nurse.

The car park adjacent to the Abbey Medical Centre in Station Road is now has designated bays at which staff at the centre to administer injections, blood taking or assessments.

Non-clinical partner Ryan Smith said: "Due to Covid-19 we have made significant changes to how we operate as a GP surgery and how we can protect our staff and patients whilst still maintaining the best quality care.

"We have set up a drive-thru whereby patients can be treated appropriately whilst in their car by our doctors and nurses.

"This is to minimise the risk to patients and staff of coming into the surgery and/or mixing with more people than necessary.

"It has been very popular and works well in the great weather we have been having although we have also set up a Gazebo for the recent rain.

"We are very proud and honoured to be working with such a great team in the surgery who have worked extremely hard over the last few weeks and really care about the Kenilworth community as a whole."
