This will be instead of the PSA prostate cancer testing day which took place at the United Reform Church in Abbey Hill last year.

The Lions had planned to repeat that event in 2020.

However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, this has not proved to be possible.

Applications for the kits will be accepted until November 30 on the PSA testing website https://klc.mypsatests.org.uk/.

Kenilworth Lions are offering a 50 per cent discount for applicants to use, if required, but the more applicants prepared to pay the full price the more people that can be tested within the funding available.

More details of the scheme can be found on the Kenilworth Lions web site at www.kenilworthlionsclub.co.uk.

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer among men, and PSA testing involves a simple blood test which can detect prostate disease at an early stage, and potentially save lives.

Even if they have had a test before, all eligible men are encouraged to take up the new scheme on offer.
