Kenilworth mayor expresses happiness that trains are again running in and out of the town's station after cancellations due to Covid-19

Train services are running two and from Kenilworth Station again after they were cancelled in January due to Covid-19.

Cllr Richard Dickson says 'getting more trains stopping at the station is a vital part of the response to the climate change emergency and to boost the town's tourism economy'

Trains are again running in and out of Kenilworth Station after services were cancelled for months due to Covid-19.

In January West Midlands Railway (WMR) announced in January that it would be running an amended timetable at the station which included replacing trains between Leamington and Kenilworth with a bus service.

WMR said the decision was made in order to "keep key workers moving during the current national lockdown".

Cllr Richard Dickson, mayor of Kenilworth, took the 7:07am train to Coventry this morning from Kenilworth.

He said: "It was great to be on the train to Coventry this morning from Kenilworth.

"Getting more trains stopping at the station is a vital part of our response to the climate change emergency and to boost our tourism economy."
