Leamington couple who married on Christmas Eve in 1960 celebrate 60 years of marriage

A couple who married on Christmas Eve 60 years ago are celebrating their Diamond Wedding today (Thursday).

Albert and Lucy Carter got married at Warwick Register office after meeting through Albert's brother.

Albert (78) grew up in Leamington and Lucy (79) grew up in the Rhondda valley in South Wales.

They lived in Queen Street in Leamington before moving to Lillington in 1969 where they raised their family.

Albert and Lucy have two daughters and a son and grandchildren and great grandchildren who live all over England except one grandson who lives in America

All the family will be joining a group 'Facetime' call on Christmas Eve, followed by a family party in the summer, Covid allowing.
