Leamington paramedic shares her Coronavirus story to warn people to continue to stay safe as lockdown resrictions loosen

Ten weeks after contracting Covid-19 Leamington paramedic Kimberley Bick is still sufferring from the effects of the virus.

And she has shared her story with the Leamington Courier and her friends via her Facebook account in order to raise awareness and to warn people not to become complacent and to stay safe as lockdown restrictions start to be loosened.

Kimberley has posted a timeline on her Facebook page which documents her experience of having caught Coronavirus more than two months ago and the impact it is still having on her life and could continue to do so for some time.

She describes how she felt when she first became unwell with a 'vice-like headache' and 'aching joints' among other symptoms up to her current condition in which she is unable to run around after her children or carry out household tasks such as hanging up washing without struggling physically.

She said: "Covid-19 is not a short term illness and the post-infective complications can last up to six months - maybe more who knows

"Mine is pericarditis- swelling of the fluid-filled sac around the heart.

"Please be careful when the lockdown is relaxed on July 4.

"I can’t return to full duties as I am and although I count myself one of the lucky ones for not being in ITU the long term effects are very real and very distressing and although I know I’m not alone, and I have amazing family support, but it does feel very lonely as no one understands how frustrating and upsetting it is unless they are going through it themselves."
