Leamington police will be using speed guns to catch speeding motorists in and around town centre

Police in Leamington have had training to use speed guns in and around the town centre.

Leamington Police have said: “This morning (Wednesday October 2) officers and PCSOs from Leamington Spa Safer Neighbourhood Team have all had speed gun training.

“This means we can now go out and monitor and enforce speed limits in the town.”

Responding to Leamington Police’s Facebook post about the training, one resident said: “Please do it [the speed limit enforcement] inside and outside the Heathcote estate too - people think they are Formula One drivers [there].

Others have asked for the police to enforce the speed limits on food delivery workers riding heavy electric bicycles in the town.

Leamington Police said: “We do plan on doing some enforcement in town, so can target the Parade area if that is where they are most often seen.”
