Leamington software company donates staff office food and drink supplies to help charity's support work during Coronavirus outbreak

A software company in Leamington has donated its monthly quota of food and drinks supplies to a charity helping with Coronavirus suppot work in the town.

Blackpepper Software currently has most of its staff working from home and therefore not in need of items at the office such as toilet roll, milk and fruit.

It has donated items to the Helping Hands Community Project to pass on to those in greatest need.

Managing director John Cooke said: "We love our local suppliers and with most of our staff working from home that means we don’t need as many supplies.

"We don’t want them or their employees to suffer so we’ve decided we will continue to pay them for our normal level of service; but divert the supplies we would have used to our local charity, Helping Hands, so they can help those in our local community with the greatest need.

"It’s important that we all pull together to help one another in this time of need."

The company has also published a blog on its website offering "to help people weather the Covid-19 storm".

Marketing manager Rosica Yordanova said: "We’re wondering if there is anything further we can do to help people weather the Covid-19 storm.

"If you could benefit from learning about how we’re successfully remote working, or if you have any ideas as to how we could help generally, please don't hesitate to get in touch."

"We can certainly try."
