NHS Warwickshire 4x4 Volunteers are looking for new recruits

Volunteer drivers who own 4x4 are being sought by a group which helps the NHS during severe weather conditions such as snow and heavy rain.

The NHS Warwickshire 4x4 Volunteers transport staff to see patients or get to work and medicine to those who are unable to collect their prescriptions.

And NHS staff have paid tribute to the volunteers.

Sara Houghton, ward manager for Mary Ward at Warwick Hospital, said: I would just like to say thank you so much to the 'Snow Patrol'.

"It's really reassuring to know that they're there when I have to figure out how to get my staff into the ward."

Volunteers Graeme and Julie Wright are campaigning are appealing for more people to volunteer for the service.
