Parts of public parks in Warwick District closed due to safeguarding measures surrounding the Coronavirus pandemic

Public car parks have been closed including at Newbold Comyn Leisure Centre and Radford Road following new advice given to Warwick District Council by Warwickshire Police to tackle the Coronavirus emergency.

Victoria Park's skate park has also been fenced off with the use of metal barriers.

While all of the district’s public parks and open spaces remain open, the Council is reminding everyone from families with teenagers to dog walkers to adhere to the rules and guidelines which have been put in place by the Government to protect the NHS and save lives during what is now considered a national and international emergency.

The guidelines are as follows:

* Stay local and use open spaces near to your home where possible – do not travel unnecessarily.

* Only go outside alone or with members of your own household.

* Keep at least two metres apart from anyone outside your household at all times.

* Be aware that gatherings of more than two in parks or other public spaces have been banned and the police will enforce this.

* If you have a garden, make use of the space for exercise and fresh air.

* Take hygiene precautions when you are outside, and wash your hands as soon as you are back indoors.
