Anne Duff had wanted to make the changes to 65 Waverley Road - a three-bedroom semi-detached property - but her plans fell foul of a key Warwick District Council requirement that there must be a bus stop within 400 metres. The nearest one to the property is 480 metres away.

The scheme had been subject to a number of objections from neighbours including Lucy Andrews who said: “I strongly object to this application. The road is unable to facilitate additional parking as the road is already hazardous to drive down. It would ruin a family home and degenerate and destroy the character of the area and add additional noise and disturbance.”

Others mentioned potential problems with emergency services being able to drive along Waverley Road due to the number of parked cars but Warwickshire County Council as the highway authority raised no objection as long as there was a provision for two cycle spaces as well as two car parking spaces.
