Reduced capacity and some attractions closed at Warwick Castle due to coronavirus

The team at Warwick Castle is implementing new measures in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.

Warwick Castle have been posting updates on their website and the latest includes reduced capacity, certain attractions being closed and social distancing measures.

The latest update said: "The health and safety of our staff and guests remain the utmost importance to us at Warwick Castle, and we are continuing to follow the most up-to-date advice from all specialist parties, including the NHS and the UK Government.

"To that end, Warwick Castle has:

~ Significantly reduced total visitor capacity to allow for more space across the castle and grounds

~ Closed the Warwick Castle Dungeon, Time Tower and Princess Tower attractions, until further notice, to comply with Government advice on social distancing

~ Implemented safe distancing measures at all shows, restaurants and seated areas

~ Implemented additional supplies of hand sanitising stations placed across the castle and grounds

~ Enhanced cleaning procedures including the cleaning of public surfaces and touchpoints with antiviral cleaner regularly throughout each day

~ Fully briefed and trained staff on all enhanced cleaning procedures

"We will continue to closely monitor the situation, liaising with relevant authorities and following the official guidance from the UK Government. As such any staff should not to come into work if they are showing a persistent cough or flu-like symptoms.

"Similarly, if a guest at the castle is showing symptoms such as a fever, cough or shortness of breath, they will be respectfully asked to leave. If you are showing any of these symptoms and are due to visit, we respectfully request you do not visit and instead contact us to discuss rearranging your visit.

"We appreciate this is a difficult time for many. We want to stay open to provide a happy and fun experience for our guests, but we will always act in accordance with the government and health authority recommendations and may be required to make further changes in the near future. As we continue to monitor the situation as it develops, we will provide you with updates across our social media channels and our website here.
