Residents at Rugby's Overslade House care home prepared bouquets out of donated flowers to give to nurses at St Cross's Cedar Ward as a thank-you to their dedication.

The gifts were made to mark International Nurses' Day on May 12, which coincides with the birthday of Florence Nightingale.

A spokesperson for the home said: "International Nurses’ Day is a day to give thanks for the dedication of care givers everywhere, who go above and beyond the call of duty to

deliver extraordinary care and support.

"Along with the gifts of thanks our in-house nurse team received, our residents decided during their weekly flower arranging session, to re-gift and repackage the donated bouquets they had received from Asda Rugby.

"They spent time creating smaller hand wrapped posies for delivery to their chosen nurse team at St Cross Hospital.

"Each contained a personal ‘Thank You’ card from our residents."
