A Rugby resident will be taking to the skies to help raise money for a Warwick-based charity.

Isobel McArthur, who used to live in Warwick but now lives in Rugby, is taking on a charity wing walk for Safeline, which helps and supports those affected by sexual abuse and rape.

Isobel will be taking on a wing walk on July 10.

A wing walk has been on Isobel’s bucket list to do by the time her 58th birthday came round ( which is late July).

After recently volunteering her time in the offices of Safeline and finding out more about the much needed work that Safeline does, she felt compelled to take on the challenge to help raise awareness and funds for Safeline.

Isobel has set herself a target of £1,250, which has already reached £805.

She said: "It would be absolutely fantastic if I could reach £1,250 as that would be an amazing amount of money for Safeline, enabling them to continue supporting those who have been affected by sexual abuse or rape.

"After spending weeks working alongside the Safeline staff, I saw the wonderful job that everyone does to help those who come to Safeline for support - the counselling team, the Young People/Early Intervention team, The ISVAs (Independent Sexual Violence Advisors) together with the office and development team.

"Please help me help those who need Safeline."

A spokesperson from Safeline said: "A huge thank you to Isobel for taking on this rather frightening challenge to help raise awareness and much needed funds for Safeline.

"It was great to have Isobel working amongst our teams enabling her to see first hand the great work do at Safeline to support those affected by sexual abuse or rape.

"Even more amazing is that she has chosen to support us with fundraising from her wing walk – support like Isobel’s really is fantastic and really appreciated. Thank you."
