A FARS spokeswoman said: “We have had one of our most difficult years to date with a huge hike in bills, hay shortages due to an incredibly hot summer and our grass drying up, and a freezing winter which saw us need to buy heaters and coats for some of the animals.

“Please come along and meet some of the animals, find out about what we do and help us continue our life-saving work.”

Tickets cost £5 each (£3 for under 12’s) and can be booked online or bough on the door.

Small dogs which can be carried are welcome but the sanctuary asks for no big dogs to be brought to the event.
