The owners and staff of Rachel McGovern Hair, Hollies Tea and Cake Rooms, Brownie Boss, Warwickshire Beer Company and the Warwickshire Welly Rack Co - all based in Queen Street - will be at the doors of their businesses on Saturdays between 2pm and 4pm to hand over products which have been ordered via their business's Facebook pages.

The businesses put out a Facebook post advertising the Cubbington Christmas Click & Collect which says: "We're so excited to announce the launch of Cubbington’s Christmas Click & Collect.

"The Heart of Cubbington is home to a cluster of small businesses who have decided to team up so the village can still sparkle this Christmas.

"The festive season is a huge time for small businesses but with our doors being forced to close and the fear of everyone going straight to the big online retailers, we've pulled together and had to think outside the box.

"How does it work?

"Head to our individual Facebook pages below to see what we’re offering, even lay in bed while placing your orders then on Saturday afternoon take a stroll to our beautiful village and pick up your goods from 2pm to 4pm.

"Each retailer will be in their premises and your products will be ready to be picked up from the front door.

"What’s more festive than putting on your welly boots, picking up prezzies from the Warwickshire Beer Company, grabbing a delicious hot chocolate from Hollies and your weekend brownies from the Brownie Boss.

"For your final stop at 49 Queen Street, collect your stocking fillers and Tropic gifts as well as the perfect family gift from the Warwickshire Welly Rack Co.

"For people without Facebook, feel free to contact each retailer for a personalised shopping experience via telephone."

The click and collect service was the idea of Simeon Lee and his wife Rachel McGovern.

Simeon said: "Rachel and I were devastated by the news that she had to close her hairdressing studio in our garden.

"We wanted to think how we could help other retailers in the area who are in a similar situation in what would have been the busiest month of the year.

"We really feel this solution will add a little festive spirit and help the local residents access special gifts this Chrismas whilst giving a lifeline to our Cubbington businesses."
