Southam businessman makes £10k donation to South Warwickshire NHS Trust after setting fundraiding challenge for family and friends on Facebook

Scott Simpson the owner of AutoFastners in Southam has donated thousands of pounds to the NHS after setting family and friends a fundraising challenge on Facebok to get them active during the lockdown period.

The Warwickshire businessman and his wife Ellen asked their nearest and dearest to run, skip, ride or scoot 1 kilometre or more, record their distances on exercise trackers and then post a screenshot along with a fun photo as proof of their efforts.

And for every kilometre recorded, Scott donated £10 to South Warwickshire NHS Trust.

In 29 hours 138 people covered 1,050k and Scott donated £10,500.

With AutoFasteners staying open for business as it is classed in the 'essential industry' bracket, Scott and Ellen decided they wanted to help support the NHS and to bring some fun to families who are at home with children to help them through the lockdown.
