Storm Goretti latest: Warwickshire still forecast to get heavy snow
Warwickshire is still set to get heavy snow later today (Thursday January 8) as Storm Goretti approaches the UK.
Yesterday (Wednesday), the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for snow in the area – but this was upgraded to an amber warning in the afternoon.
The Met Office still has the warnings in place this morning, but the timings have now changed.
Currently, the amber warning is place from 8pm tonight until 9am tomorrow.

The Met Office said: “Heavy snow, associated with Storm Goretti, is likely to lead to disruption and dangerous travelling conditions Thursday night into Friday.”
Like yesterday, it is still predicted that some higher ground areas could now see more than 10 inches of snow.
Under the warning, the Met Office said: “Rain associated with Storm Goretti will turn readily to heavy snow on Thursday evening, initially on hills and then to lower levels overnight, before easing through the course of Friday morning.
"Accumulations of 10 to 15cm are likely fairly widely, with the potential for 20 to 30cm in some locations, mainly on hills above 200m elevation, more especially in Wales and/or the Peak District.
"Snow will ease through the course of Friday morning, turning more to rain or sleet at times at low levels, but disruption is likely to persist into Friday after snow stops falling.
"There is some uncertainty over the exact track of Storm Goretti, which will influence the locations most likely to see disruptive snow, and it is possible this warning may be updated.”
The amber warning area currently sits in the middle of a much larger yellow weather warning, which covers a large part of the UK.
The yellow warning is now in place from 5pm today until 12pm tomorrow – previously it had been in place from 6pm.
