'Painting Plantation', which is a revamped woodland area, was officially opened in July 2018.

The garden features trees and shrubs as well as a sensory garden, pond, sheltered seating areas and is also attractive to wildlife.

Age UK Coventry and Warwickshire have been long standing supporters of 'Paintings Plantation', which has become a place to encourage students to grow vegetables and help maintain the plantation, for older people with dementia to visit at pre-arranged times with their carer and to allow volunteers to use their skills and pass them on.

Over the past few years, the Plantation has grown from strength to strength, and is now also a part of the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh awards scheme.

Elizabeth Phillips, one of the volunteers said: "The transformation of this area of trees and pond has been remarkable in such a short period of time.

"From an impenetrable wilderness, to a place of tranquillity and colour, giving space for the birds and bugs to flourish and a place for peace and laughter.

"We cannot maintain it without the help of others, so please get in touch and donate your time, however much or little you can”.
