Warwick and Leamington MP Matt Western urges residents to nominate NHS heroes for annual parliamentary awards

Warwick and Leamington MP Matt Western is asking residents of the two towns and surrounding area to nominate their NHS heroes in the annual Parliamentary Awards for the health service.

The awards were introduced by NHS England to recognise the work of health and social care workers across the country. Honours include the ‘Excellence in Healthcare Award’, ‘Health Equalities Award’ and ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’.

Last year’s awards saw over 600 nominations from over 250 Members of Parliament.

The winners will be presented with their awards in Parliament on 7 July 2021.

Mr Western said: “In normal times the NHS is fantastic, but at a time when we most needed them, local NHS workers here in Warwick and Leamington have stepped up this year to support us in ways which are truly exceptional.

“Earlier this year I announced that I will be hosting my own constituency-focused awards for community excellence, which NHS workers will of course play an important part. It would be great to also have the work of local NHS workers recognised nationally in the NHS Parliamentary Awards.”
