A spokesperson from Safeline said: "This support really is appreciated especially during these current times as Safeline are getting more referrals for their services than ever before.

"Since lockdown began in March 2020, 63 per cent of total referrals to Safeline's Independent Sexual Violence Advisors were children aged between four and 12 years old."

Alex Pearson, Community Champion in Leamington Morrisons, will also be supporting Safeline by taking part in the Steps4Safeline by holding her own sponsored walk on February 26 between both stores.

Alex said: "I am proud to be able to take part in this work.

"We know these times are hard and the with restrictions being in place we have the chance of an increase of sexual or domestic abuse.

"I am so happy to help and support Safeline with this walk.

"Myself and Archie have helped raise money for charities in the past and this is Chester's first walk for a charity.

"I am so happy to be able to support this charity and make Safeline become more aware and make sure people know the support we have in our community.

"Please help us raise money and raise awareness for sexual abuse."

Alex and her colleagues across both stores are hoping to raise £1,200 from the store collections and the sponsored walk.
