Warwick Castle has become a rising star on Instagram.

The castle has been listed in the 'top 10 best loved British stately homes' ranking.

To find out Britain’s best loved homes, comparethemarket.com analysed Instagram hashtag data to reveal which buildings were photographed the most.

Comparethemarket.com said the Instagram data was accurate on June 4.

According to the rankings Warwick Castle came in at number seven with 101,928 Instagram hashtag posts.

Warwick was also named as one of the most Instagrammed historic towns in the UK in 2019.

Topping the stately home list was Buckingham Palace with 1,245,968 Instagram hashtag posts.

General manager of Warwick Castle, Nick Blofield said: "We're delighted to be in the top 10 best-loved British stately homes on Instagram.

"We love looking through the pictures people have shared from their visit, and now the castle is fully reopened it is fantastic to see people enjoying the magnificent gardens and grounds again, which contain more than 1,100 years of history.

"One of the best spots to snap a picture from is the bridge overlooking the south side of the castle, a well-known top British view that was also featured in Rory Bremmer's Great British Views."
