A Warwick councillor has said that they welcomed the presence of a Covid testing station in the town.

Earlier this week a resident, who wished to remain anonymous, contacted The Courier after they were concerned about the Covid testing station set up on the Hampton Road car park in Warwick.

The resident said they wanted to warn other people it was there because there was 'not notice and no signs' about the site and they themselves had got caught in the middle of it.

Warwickshire County Council have been contacted for a statement about the lack of signs mentioned by the resident.

After seeing the first article, Cllr John Holland, Warwickshire County Council's ward member for Warwick west wanted to express his support for the testing site and how useful they are for residents.

Cllr John Holland, said: "As the local ward member, I was pleased to see that the mobile testing centre was here.

"They are a really useful tool in containing the spread of the virus.

"If that means that my local residents have that access then, of course, I welcomed its presence.

"These centres move around the county and give the flexibility to respond to need or to offer local people an alternative way to get a test.

"Having the unit here in Warwick has allowed local residents to get tested and, with results coming back quickly as they do from mobile centres, it was the chance for them to do the right thing, get tested and take the appropriate action depending on the results of the test."

~ Keep a safe social distance of 2m wherever possible

~ If you feel ill with symptoms of Covid-19, stay at home and arrange a test.
