Whilst VE Day marked the end of the war in Europe in May 1945, thousands of Armed Forces personnel were still involved in fighting in the Far East.

Victory over Japan Day (VJ Day) marks the day Japan surrendered - August 15 1945, in effect ending the Second World War.

Together with his Mayoress Liz Jackson, Cllr Morris laid a wreath at the War Memorial on behalf of the Town Council and all residents of Warwick.

“It was humbling to lay a wreath of behalf of the residents of Warwick” said Cllr Morris. “It gave the chance to reflect on the events of 75-years ago and to not only remember our service personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice, but also those who died when the atom bombs were dropped on Japan.”
