A resident in Warwick has embraced the Christmas spirit by adorning his home with lights and decorations in aid of charity.

Brian Cook, who is 70, started putting his Christmas lights on his home in Trueman Close at the beginning of November so he would be ready to turn them on district-wide switch on event on November 27.

Brian said: "This year is bigger in terms of me adding extra decorations and characters.

"I have been putting lights up for the last six years for the benefit of my grandchildren however they are now getting older so I needed another justification and charity seemed to be a good justification.

"I could have selected so many charities this year but felt I Myton Hospices has so much relevance to the local community.

"I also chose Make a wish as I feel their focus is on children and that is what Christmas is about."

Brian is hoping to raise at least £100 for charity.

Since putting up his display, Brian has had neighbours and other residents come and have a look.

He said: "The comments from neighbour's and people coming to see the lights have been very flattering we are also happy if people want to use the archways for photo opportunities

"During the day also there is displays of penguins and so on to see.

"There is a collection tin for donations
