His charities last year were the Graham Fulford Trust supporting PSA tests for Prostate Cancer and the Air Ambulance.

Each of these has now received a cheque for £1,000 and it is hoped a presentation will take place when meetings resume.

David presided over a busy year with open meetings to attract new recruits – six new members joined the club, but with many retiring this year, more new member are still welcome.

The club is keen to invite the many people who volunteered to help the community during Coronavirus to continue their involvement by joining their ranks.

The club has been active with donations to the Foodbank, food parcels, Safeline, Scrubbers, needy children and others, but now needs to get back to raising the money to carry on helping others.

Annually the club raises more than £40,000 and gives out a similar amount to good causes.

This year many of the club’s events, including the Thai festival and schools concert were cancelled due to Coronavirus but the club have said they will return in 2021.

Members are getting used to meeting weekly via Zoom and a full programme of speakers has resumed.

Next week Shelterbox will be telling about their work overseas, and details can be found on our website and Facebook accounts.
