On Monday (June 1) Baabzi and his team at the takeaway hosted a charity day where 50 per cent from all orders from noon to midnight would be donated to his fundraising for the NHS.

He is hoping to raise £10,000 for the NHS Covid-19 Appeal.

He said that all his efforts are in memory of his baby son Adam Hussain.

Adam suffered from pulmonary hypertension and he contracted the flu and complications with that which ultimately led to his death. Adam died in 2017 at just 11 months old.

The takeaway owner, who also has six other children, four boys and two girls, said that he and his family would never forget the care they received during the 'worst time time in their lives'.

The order taken on Monday resulted in around £500 being donated to the fundraising page.

Baabzi said: "We were really pleased to see a good turnout on the day.

"A cooler day may have resulted in a better turnout. But meeting and greeting members of our local community was fab.

"We have always been grateful but in this instance we would sincerely like to thank each and everyone that took the time to come and visit us, and those that placed orders on the day.

"We really really appreciate it and we hope that everyone enjoyed the spears and that they enjoyed their food.

"We really want to achieve our target, we fully understand that everyone has a host of options when it comes to donating to charities. We respect that.

"But we hope everyone can dig deeper and help us reach our target."

On Sunday (June 7) Baazbi, members of his family and takeaway team will also be cycling from the Birmingham Children’s Hospital to Warwick Hospital to help raise the fundraising total.

Baabzi said: "We are slightly nervous but that’s equalled with excitement.

"It's really fulfilling to try and serve and make an effort to raise money for this wonderful cause.

"We want to thank everyone that has donated and everyone that has offered their much appreciated support."
