Warwick VE Day competitions launched

Two competitions have been launched in Warwick in celebration of VE Day.

The Mayor of Warwick, Cllr Neale Murphy, is hosting a best-decorated house and window display competition open to all residents in the town, to help the town celebrate the 75th Anniversary of VE Day, whilst complying with the Government’s current advice on social distancing.

Entry is free and registrations must be completed and submitted, using the online form, before 10am on Thursday May 7 to be considered for judging.

Residents can enter both categories.

The competition encourages original, creative designs and decorations, to tie in with VE Day Celebrations.

The Mayor of Warwick will consider any decorations to the front of the house and front windows only. All decorations and displays must be visible from the pavement.

The town council team are asking that all competitors continue to follow Government’s advice and only use materials found within their home as 'this not an essential reason to leave your home'.

Judging will take place from 10am on Friday May 8. The team are unable to provide the exact time judging will take place at your address.

The winner from each category will received a food hamper delivered directly to their house.
