The team behind the event, which sees runners take on a 10k obstacle course, have made the decision to cancel the spring Wolf Run that was due to take place in April because of concerns about coronavirus.

This morning (Monday) the team made an announcement on their Facebook page saying they have postponed the event that was due to take place near Offchurch.

"Over the past few days and weeks we have been closely monitoring the situation with our own medical team and following Government and expert advice.

"As a team we are taking the current threat seriously and we feel that due to the nature of the Wolf Run event and the large concentration of people expected, it is in the best interest of runners, spectators and staff that we postpone to a later date (TBC).

"We will be emailing everyone shortly with further information as we continue to implement our contingency plans. In the meantime, we request that you please refrain from emailing us until after we have communicated our follow up information.

"We are gutted the event will not be taking place as we were greatly looking forward to the start of a new season and welcoming you all. Please look after yourselves and think of those who are perhaps more vulnerable to this virus.

"Thank you for your understanding and patience. WR Team"
