Other new play equipment includes a multi-play unit featuring a bridge, tunnel and slide, and a four-seat swing incorporating a face-to-face, 'Tango' seat, an inclusive seat and a cradle seat perfect for small children.

New benches have also been installed, while tree planting looks set to take place later this year.

Cllr Kathryn Lawrence, Rugby Borough Council portfolio holder for operations and traded services, said: "With the school summer holiday now in full swing, we're delighted to have completed work on the refurbishment of the play area in Glaramara Close, with an inclusive range of new play equipment which caters for children of all ages.”

"The council has a long-standing commitment to investing in the borough's parks and open spaces, a commitment which includes working closely with residents to make sure we deliver facilities which meet the needs of our communities."
