With the Covid-19 restrictions upon us, this year's Armistice Day was certainly different.

But that did not stop people marking the occasion with a two minutes silence on their doorstep - or an artistic creation in their window.

Suw Mitchell's creation of Sir Tom Moore on her front lawn in Myton Gardens, Warwick, caught the eye back in the spring - and she has been at it again this week, with a new tribute.

"War Horse made from a mixture of recycled materials including a dustbin, fabric conditioner bottles, plant pots, bin bags and branches," she said.

The children of Emscote Infant School in Warwick held a two-minute silence to remember the fallen as the cannons were fired at Warwick Castle.

Class teacher Vicky Madagan said: "This is an annual event for the staff and children as we gather to reflect.

"We were not going to be beaten by Covid so we stood in our 'fire' safety bubbles in the playground and placed wreaths at a wooden cross we'd made.

"We were fortunate enough to hear the cannon fire at Warwick Castle to begin and end our reflection.

"We had been learning about Remembrance Day across all age groups and the children were so respectful we were very proud of them all. I've attached some photographs."
