Perennial rescue at Pageant House

Plants likely to be thrown out during new landscaping at The Globe in Warwick have been rescued by town councillor Mandy Littlejohn who has a shop at the rear of the pub.

Mandy and a helper grabbed garden spades and after asking manager Darren McClure if they could “recycle” the unwanted plants, dug them up and had them replanted in Pageant Gardens.

Mr McClure, who hopes to reopen a restored pub and garden by April 29, said: “Everyone at Oakman Inns supports the sustainable vision that the company has and we were thrilled that Mandy was able to save all our plants which would otherwise have been uncared for during the refurbishment of The Globe and our garden.”
