Plane makes forced landing in Wellesbourne

A SMALL aeroplane was forced to make an unplanned landing in Wellesbourne on Friday afternoon.

Police were called to the A429 near Walton Hall just before 3.30pm following a report of a light aircraft making a forced landing.

The Piper Cherokee aircraft had one person on board who was not injured.

The A429 is currently closed and traffic is being diverted along the B4086 and the B455 and the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) has been informed.
