Plans submitted for Premier Inn in Leamington town centre

A FORMAL planning application to change the use of Leamington’s Regency shopping Arcade into an 82-bedroom Premier Inn has now been submitted to district council planners.

As reported in the Courier on March 11, the Whitbread group, which owns Premier Inns, has already been in preliminary discussions with the council about a change of use for the arcade - which has been boarded up for the past three years.

This was after furniture store Lee Longlands moved to Bedford Street and the new owners went out of business and administrators sold on the site, which has a Grade II listed frontage.
