Police appeal after spitting incident in Leamington

Police are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist spat in a motorists face during an incident in Leamington this month.

The incident took place near the traffic lights on the junction between High Street and Lower Avenue on Saturday November 1 at approximately 3:22pm.

It is believed that two cyclists had ridden through a red light from the direction of Tachbrook Road onto Lower Avenue, when they came into the path of the victim’s van causing him to brake to avoid them.

The victim, a 34-year-old man reported that one of the cyclists confronted him and then spat in his face.

The suspect is described as a white man in his late 40’s, with olive/tanned completion, short dark hair with dark facial stubble and spoke in a foreign accent. He is also described as riding a mountain style bike and wearing a hooded top tied around his waist.
