Police appeal over ‘distinctive’ helmet after Warwick robbery

Officers have released details of the incidents which took place on Monday evening in hope of appealing to witnesses who were in the businesses or nearby at the time.

But the force has refused to name the premises where the offences took place so as not to identify the shops, which they said were victims to a crime.

The first incident too place person at around 8.20pm on Monday December 14 where a person entered a “food outlet” in Tachbrook Park Drive, believed to be Subway, and attempted to rob the premises.

In a second incident two hours later, “a petrol station” in Stratford Road, believed to be the BP garage, was robbed and around £250 in cash was taken.

Police are now appealing to witnesses who can help identify the man pictured, or who was near either of the businesses at the time.

A man wanted for questioning (pictured) is described as being white, around 5ft 5 to 5’ 10” tall and of a larger build.

He was pictured in the petrol station wearing a dark coloured jacket and light grey jogging bottoms as well as a full blue motorcycle helmet with a red or orange sticker or emblem above the visor.

Detective Constable Sara Taylor said: “We are urging anyone with information about the incidents, or who recognises the individual pictured to contact us.

“The helmet is distinctive and we are confident that someone will know who it belongs to.”
