The offender is believed to be white, about 6ft, skinny build and was wearing a grey hooded top, dark jeans and Nike trainers.

He is also described as having black spiky hair, a scar below his right ear and is thought to have a Birmingham accent.

Insp Karl Faulkner said officers were continuing with enquiries and would be carrying out patrols in the area.

“We would like to reassure the community this appears to be an isolated incident and we will continue to provide a police presence in the area when possible.

“The victim made the right decision by not going with the man and we would encourage parents to reiterate the dangers of talking to strangers.

“We would ask children to never go off with anyone they do not know, get into a vehicle with a stranger, accept gifts off a stranger or wander off on their own.”

Anybody with information about the incident is urged to come forward and police on 101 quoting incident number 331 of April 20.
