A spokesperson from Warwickshire Police said: “Yesterday – only 24 hours after three children tragically lost their lives at Babbs Mill Park in Solihull – we had to rush out to stop a group of secondary-school-age children from walking over a frozen pond in Warwick.

“In this instance, we attended and issued a few words of advice. It could easily have been a very different callout.

Parents of school-age children – if you have not done already, please talk to them this evening about the dangers of attempting to walk over frozen water.”
