Police warn owners after sheep are killed by dogs in Wolston

Dog owners are being urged to keep their pets on leads near livestock after two sheep were killed in Wolston, near Rugby.

Sometime between 4pm on Wednesday, January 27 and 9am on Thursday morning, two sheep were attacked on land off Brandon Lane, near to Brandon Woods.

It is thought the animals were attacked by a dog.

PC Mike Stamp said: “I know Brandon Woods, which is next to where this incident happened, is a popular spot for dog walkers and I would urge anyone out walking to be aware of nearby livestock and to keep their dog on its lead.

“Any stress could also have a major impact on the welfare of the sheep, so please keep an eye on your pets when out and about.”
