And this has drawn concerns from Labour councillors who had hoped Highways would raise some concerns to help stop the development.

Cllr Helen Adkins, county councillor for Leamington Willes, said: “I am deeply disappointed with the report from County Highways. I lobbied WCC hard on behalf of the residents of Sydenham but my calls were not listened to.

"Myself and Labour colleagues have fought hard over the last two years to get this development halted, and we are very concerned about this latest development.

“This ignores the very real impact the development will have on the daily lives of people living in Sydenham, particularly those along Chesterton Drive and St Fremund’s Way.”

The area has already seen many housing developments of the years.

Clr Mini Mangat, district councillor for Leamington Willes, said: “I live in the area and I know this development will have a detrimental impact on the neighbourhood.

"We as a community have been dreading this day and many of us objected via the planning portal.

“We really hoped that County Highways would support us, but they have not, and I am very concerned about the implications of noise and air pollution. Helen and I will continue to fight against this development and we stand side by side with local residents.”
