Premier Inn set to open in Leamington town centre

PREMIER Inn is set to open a new hotel on the site of a once derelict shopping arcade in Leamington town centre in December.

The 82-bedroom hotel was opened at the site of the former Regency Arcade in the Parade, close to the town hall, on Monday December 10.

The site had been boarded up for the past four years after former tenant Lee Longlands moved to Bedford Street.

Planning permission was granted to Whitbread PLC in August 2011 to refurbish the building, which dates back to around 1835 and has a grade II listed frontage.

The hotel will include a restaurant and each bedroom will cater for up to two adults and two children with a king-sized bed, remote control TV, tea and coffee making facilities, a spacious desk area and Wi-Fi access.

Simon Doyle, general manager of the hotel, said: “Premier Inn is proud to be part of Leamington. With entertainment as well as relaxation at your doorstep the Premier Inn will be ideal for those looking for great value in the heart of the West Midlands.”

The company has said it expects the hotel to contribute more than £7.7 million to Leamington’s economy and to create 32 new jobs.

Premier Inn has more than 600 hotels nationwide, covering more locations than any other chain in the UK.
