Prince of Wales to visit Warwick for 1,100th anniversary
Prince Charles will tour the castle and is expected to chat to pupils and staff at Warwick School where he will also observe a lesson in progress.
But as president of the Royal Shakespeare Company, the prince’s first and last stops of the day will be in Stratford where he will see performances of Henry IV Part I along with a student production.

Hide AdHe will also visit the nearby King Edward VI School, to see the classroom where Shakespeare is believed to have studied, then visit patients in the Shakespeare Hospice before moving on to Warwick School.
Warwick headmaster Gus Lock said: “We are thrilled that the prince is visiting the school as we believe this is also our anniversary. There were children educated in Warwick long before King Henry VIII re-founded what was then the King’s New School in 1545.”
After Warwick School, HRH will move on to the castle to tour the Great Hall, state rooms and hopefully see a demonstration of the replica fire-hurling trebuchet.
At the end of the day he will return to Stratford to watch Antony Sher play Falstaff in Henry IV.
