Project begins to help cut flood risks in Warwickshire

Villages in south Warwickshire that are considered to be at high risk of flooding are to benefit from a new flood action scheme.

The Community Flood Resilience Pathfinder project is aiming to encourage people who live in such areas to help themselves and to take responsibility for their own flood risk.

The scheme is setting up 13 projects and ten Flood Action Groups across Warwickshire - including groups in Eathorpe, Wappenbury and Offchurch and Hunningham (collectively). These areas may have vulnerable residents or structures which would excacerbate flooding or they may have been chosen due to feedback from residents.

A questionnaire is also being distributed throughout the county - predominantly aimed at those who have had their homes flooded or believe they are at risk - to find out what people think about flood risk and how to manage it.

It can also be filled in online, but must be completed by November 30. Visit www.surveymonkey.com/s/XQNRT8V
