Pupils bring Roald Dahl characters alive
Children dressed as their favourite characters from the writer’s books and based their own stories on Dahl’s often hair-raising creations, raising £70 for Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity, which helps children suffering from serious and life-limiting illnesses.
Teacher and literacy co-ordinator Marian Braddish, who came to school dressed as the BFG, felt it helped that parents had grown up reading Dahl’s books.
She said: “The costumes were really well thought out.
“It helped having parents who have read Roald Dahl’s books themselves.
“The stories are as popular as ever.
“The children thoroughly enjoyed the day and really got into the spirit of it.”
