Pupils get a taste for Formula 1 in international competition

TECHNOLOGY and science pupils at North Leamington School will get a taste of what it is like to be part of a Formula 1 racing team this month.

A group of pupils in years 9 and 10 have entered the F1 in Schools competition which involves them designing, building and then racing a model F1 car at a regional event at Loughborough University next Friday.

The worldwide competition, which is supported by Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone, also requires teams to make a presentation about their entry and has encouraged the students to document their progress on video and to gain sponsorship for their efforts.

The youngsters are currently adding the finishing touches to their entry.
