Rock Doc opens new labs

‘ROCK Doc’ Mark Lewney showed that science is not just for ‘geeks’ when he launched Warwickshire College’s new laboratories.

Dr Lewney, who presents science through the medium of music, visited the college’s Leamington centre to open the new facilities.

He gave a special lecture and opened the laboratories with the help of Leamington and Warwick MP Chris White and Warwick District Council chairman Michael Kinson OBE.

The three new laboratories feature state-of-the-art facilities, including Apple TV linked up to iPad technology, interactive whiteboards, digital microscopes and other hi-tech audiovisual devices.

Dr Lewney said: “It’s amazing to see science thriving here. The geeks shall inherit the Earth – the rise of the geek is good.”
