Rugby comic in running for award

Rugby comedienne Lucy Thompson has once again earned national recognition. '¨Her show, Shake it Off, has been nominated for Best Show at this year's Leicester Comedy Festival, which has become one of the biggest comedy festivals in Europe and second only to Edinburgh in the UK. Last year, her show '˜Lady' was nominated for Best Debut Show at the same festival.

Lucy said: “I thought the nomination for best debut last year would be my career highlight. To go one better is incredible - to have a show be regarded as one of the best four shows out of over 800 events in this festival feels like a dream.”
Lucy, who won the Midlands Comedy Awards Breakthrough Act of the Year 2015, was born and raised in Rugby and has also lived abroad, before moving to Leicester.
