Mr Old was running in the marathon to help raise money for The Ambulance Services Charity (TASC), which supports members of the ambulance service who are in urgent need because of injury, ill health, stress or bereavement.

Mr Old completed the half marathon in two hours 29 minutes and raised £210 for the charity.

He said: “I collected my daughter, who was also wearing a TASC T-shirt, about 100 yards from the end and we walked the last part together before crossing the finishing line hand in hand.”
