Rural Warwickshire village could get 81 new homes

An application to build 81 new homes in Bishops Itchington has been submitted to Stratford District Council.

Permismmon Homes, which ran a public consultation event in the village last autumn, wants to create the new development on land off Gaydon Road.

The development would include a mixture of two, three and four-bedroom homes, 32 of which would be classed as ‘affordable housing’ which would be rented through a housing association or entered into ‘shared ownership’ schemes, where residents have a financial stake in the property in which they live.

The firm argues that the houses will meet the need for new “high quality” housing to buy and rent in Stratford district and says the architecture would reflect “local character and traditional detailing”.
