Saltisford church is back in the community

MEMBERs of the evangelical Saltisford church are celebrating the refurbishment of their buildings in Albert Street, Warwick, and thanking all those in the community who have helped.

Church elder Ian Furlong says over the past ten months nearly £750,000 has been spent on upgrading the former mission hall thanks to the “incredible generosity” of church members.

Some ten per cent of the cash was also donated from various trust funds.

Last week visiting Rev Andy Kelso brightened up the re-opening proceedings with an Elvis tribute act.

After having to use other church and school premises over the past year, the Saltisford church now has greatly improved facilities for its usual clubs for toddlers, children and older members of the district.

Mr Furlong said: “We are so grateful to God for the amazing way in which the funds have come in and the way the work has continued thanks to others letting us use their premises. The new building gives us more space for our growing congregation.”

An opening service is being held at 3pm tomorrow (Saturday), plus another for believers’ at 10.30am on September 23 and a quiz at 7.30pm on September 29.
